Novem1880s Regal-made Lyon & Healy 'Lakeside' Parlor Guitar Update 2022: I bought this guitar in 2009 and owned it up until 2017. Intonation is pretty good, but action is a little high, 1/4 in. It is the popular style is a great favorite as a ladys instrument. This guitar is somewhat larger than the usual Ladies size, but of beautiful proportions and a very elegant model. The numeral 1 in the style number represents the size, standard size. It's currently strung with light guage silk and steel strings. The serial number places the guitar at around 1897. Back is scalloped ladder braced, and top has a scalloped diagonal brace across running under bridge. When found, tailpiece, pictured, was used, and was tied to end strap button. I believe this guitar is all original, including unusual bridge which has factory drilled string holes through base, that are recessed (counter-sunk) on fretboard side. Bridge is either ebony or stained fruitwood. Numerous scratches and a few small dings. Antique Lyon & Healy "Jupiter" parlor guitar with spruce top and birch or maple back & sides.
